"When we are told to forgo all dissent and division, we must ask: Who is it that is truly dividing the country? It is not those who call for change; it is those who made the current policy that divides the country ... those who have removed themselves from the American tradition, from the enduring and generous impulses that are the soul of the nation. Those who now call for an end to dissent, moreover, seem not to understand what this country is about. For Debate and dissent is the very heart of the American process." -Robert F. Kennedy, 1968
Wise words from a wise man, but it’s no surprise that later that same year he was assassinated after making a speech in the Ambassador Hotel in California. Kennedy opposed the War in Vietnam, after all.
An autopsy later showed that the gunman, Palestinian born Sirhan Sirhan, may not have acted alone in the shooting. The coroner, Dr. Thomas Naguchi, said that the fatal shot that was fired could not have been from Sirhan, who many eyewitnesses said fired from five feet in front of Kennedy. Naguchi concluded that the fatal shot was fired from behind Kennedy at point blank range from behind his left ear, and was quoted years later as saying …
“Until more is precisely known…the existence of a second gunman remains a possibility. Thus, I have never said that Sirhan Sirhan killed Robert Kennedy.”
I’m going to stop there because I know that some of you reading this probably are going to think I’m some sort of conspiracy nut. Do your own research of the Kennedy assassination and you’ll find out something fishy went on and it may have come from inside our own Government.
This article isn’t about the past though. It’s about us, our generation and the path we are currently on. I am writing this as a mental call to arms for our generation, because a lot of what we are being fed is straight up horse shit. I know I will not reach as much readers as I would like to, but if I can only reach one then I have done my job.
You can agree with me, or you can disagree. The decision comes from you, it’s my opinion. I’m not forcing you to feel one way or the other, but when the front pages of most major Newspapers in America show this image.
Or this …
… then it should cleary seem evident that there is something very wrong with the way in which the media works in America today.
When Britney shaved her head five of the first seven pages, including the cover of the NY Daily News, all had to do with Britney, and why she might have shaved her head.
Has she gone crazy?!
Is she crying out for help?!
Does she suffer from Postpartum Depression!?
WILL K- FED WIN THE CUSTODY BATTLE NOW!?
I ask, WHO FUCKING CARES!
Some crazy bitch shaves her head and now it’s front page news. I hope I am not the only one who finds something wrong with that. In reality, all that happened was that someone took clippers to a person who can barely sing’s head, turned it on, and proceeded to buzz away all of her hair. That’s all. End of story.
Is she crazy, in my opinion. Yeah, Probably.
But does it really fucking matter that much? She may have been crazy in the first place. I guess you have to be in order to marry and give birth to the children of one Kevin Federline, the worlds biggest douchebag. She also may have been a product of a media hellbent on crucifying her as a crazy woman unfit to raise kids.
If people were chasing me around all day with camera’s trying to portray me in some sort of undesired light, I would probably go crazy too.
But enough about Britney because I’ve already said too much. There are far more important things going on in the world today that should be making headlines other than the ex-Mrs. K –FED getting a buzzcut, or where the silicone of Anna Nicole’s fake breasts will remain for eternity after her body rots away.
I wrote this article for people in my age group. I am 22-years-old, and in a few years my generation will be the ones who run this country. There are many things going on in the world right now that will affect our future, and if bubble-gum bullshit remains on the covers of newpapers and are dubbed as BREAKING NEWS by our television networks, we are in trouble.
When Fox News is the No. 1 Cable News Network in America, you’ve got to realize that something is wrong. Fox News is merely out to distract the American public, not inform them. If you think that they are a justifiable news source, you need to have your head examined.
If you want to watch Fox News as a source of entertainment, be my guest. Just don’t use them as a news source, because you are only kidding yourself in doing so. I bet even the fat cat executives at Fox News have a good laugh at their own “Fair and Balanced” slogan, while smoking Cuban cigars that have been lit with burning hundred dollar bills.
And how about Mr. Bill O’Reilly and his “No Spin Zone”. O’Reilly gives anyone who comes on his show a perfectly balanced platform to speak upon right?
ARRRRRGGGGHHH!, now I’m just getting mad.
Now that I’m mad let me just spew venom for a second, I promise I will come back to earth.
O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh; you chicken hawk, scum-sucking pieces of shit … You are everything that is wrong in America today, I hope that you fucking burn in hell for your crimes. How dare you call yourselves “Great” Americans. HOW DARE YOU!
Serenity now …
Serenity now …
Serenity now …
Ahhhhhhh! Okay, a more level headed me is back.
Why can’t the media give us the whole story about Iraq instead of having round the clock Anna Nicole Smith coverage? It’s because they feel we would be too disturbed by what we would see.
I watched an Italian documentary about the battle of Fallujah, called “Fallujah, The Hidden Massacre” the other day, and the images I saw disturbed me so much that I decided to write this article.
The entire city was destroyed. Corpses everywhere, burned, bloodied, bloated, not even human looking anymore. Not just insurgents, civilians like you and me. Women, children, babies.
Buildings burning, homes destroyed. Mosques desecrated. Our own forces being given orders to, “Shoot anything that moves.”
The stinking hypocrisy of it all was that it showed bodies with their skin completely melted but their clothes were perfectly intact. In the battle of Fallujah our forces used a chemical called “White Phosphorus,” to “light up the night” for attacks. What it was really used for though was, as Defense spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Barry Venable told the BBC …
"One technique is to fire a white phosphorus round into the position because the combined effects of the fire and smoke - and in some case the terror brought about by the explosion on the ground - will drive them out of the holes so that you can kill them with high explosives."
When a human comes in contact with exploding white phosphorus munitions, the chemical will melt away your skin while you are still alive. If you are unlucky enough to not be wearing a perfectly air tight gas mask, and you ingest this stuff, it will burn away your insides.
So, basically you will have one of the most painful deaths imaginable.
Now, let us backtrack for a second.
What was the fake reason we are in Iraq in the first place? You know the one our own President lied to us about?
Wasn’t it because we believed them to be hiding chemical weapons. Oh yeah, that’s what I thought.
Using White Phosphorus as a weapon is a war crime as stated in the Geneva Convention.
Anybody see something wrong with this picture?
Then Joe America comes along and says, “Well Bill O’Reilly says I should support the war, no matter what!”
I say, wake the fuck up Joe America. Get your shit straight. Stop letting the media brain wash you. Take a look at this website, do you know how much the war is costing our country, and not even on our own Federal Budget?
All of it on borrowed money. Like swiping a giant credit card. Go ahead, take a look Joey my man. Cost of War
Do you know who is going to be paying for that borrowed money eventually? Our generation. It could mean no Social Security, it could mean no Medicare. It could mean a lot of things, none of them being positive.
The “War on Terror,” began as a smokescreen and remains so today. A well-thought out product of the Bush Administration’s deliberate distortion of public perception. The mainstream media’s fragmented accounts show this warping of reality.
The reality is that it is all about oil.
OIL, OIL, OIL.
As many as 783 billion barrels of oil that sit under the Iraqi desert, begging to be pumped by any country who seeks to grab a stranglehold of the world’s energy supply.
Yes, any country that seeks global domination.
That country just so happens to be the one we live in. The wheels are in motion for the start of the American Empire, and we wouldn’t know any better because we are too caught up with which schmuck knocked up Anna Nicole.
The American media is supposed to act as a watch dog, not act as the house organ for the Bush Administration. The American public deserves to know exactly what is being waged in their name, without being watered down, or candy coated.
Mission Accomplished huh? Circa May 2003
In conclusion I must say, find out the truth on your own. Do your own research. Look at every angle. You will not find the truth if you rely solely on the information the mainstream media provides you. Use contemporary books and internet sources like FreePress.net and CommonDreams.org to help you connect the dots and find out the truth.
The most important thing that our generation cannot allow is for the Government to get its hands on the Internet. It is our most important resource if the newspapers and the mainstream media can’t get the job done anymore. As of right NOW, the big corporations are trying to change the Internet as we know it forever.
The big time Internet and cable providers like Time Warner, Comcast, Verizon and AT & T are lobbying to congress to have their say in what you view on the internet by deciding which websites run fast, which websites run slow, or which websites don’t load at all. Only the highest paying websites will be allowed to run at optimal speed.
Basically they are trying to take a big shit on the little guy. That is why the Net-Neutrality Act must be passed. If passed, the Net-Neutrality Act will make sure you can view the smallest blog, or even ZubazPants.com for that matter, just as easily as you can view a big money site like Google, or MySpace.
You can help out by signing the petition at SaveTheInternet.com. Take a look at the FAQ section to find out more.
We have been here ever since the beginning, we started the Internet generation, this is our shit, baby. Don’t ever let them take that away from you.
In conclusion, we have to make sure that whatever happens, we DO NOT end up here …
